FRAMING
& THE GAZE
Framing & the Gaze is a risograph-printed editorial zine examining how framing, cropping, and sequencing in 1990s fashion photography shaped the representation of women. Combining a short critical essay with scanned archival imagery from photographers such as Ellen von Unwerth and Peter Lindbergh, the project explores the tension between empowerment and objectification in fashion media. The risograph process introduces texture and imperfection, reinforcing how editorial design and image construction influence meaning and power within visual culture.
